Disappointing for a 3 year old!

You have to wait for the song to finish before closing the box again so that the clown jumps out when you spin it. What kid understands that? Also, the clown gets stuck in the box because he has to push it down to get it out. My baby was very excited!

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Speed

Smart Fax Machine

. but this is not a copy of the devil in the box from your childhood. As another reviewer said, the music box notes are not critical. It's also a rather flimsy music box compared to the old ones. At least the box is made of metal and not plastic. But the real point is this. Will it put a smile on the child's face? YUP! :-)

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Legacy model

2 year old laughs at this!

gifted to my 2 year old grandson for his birthday. His 7-month-old younger brother was watching closely. My grandson was so excited. He just giggled and laughed. When the clown jumped out, he laughed even louder, making the 7-month-old baby laugh too. I have seen children who were afraid. I think as long as you laugh and take it lightly, the kids will too. Our grandson loves it.

Very pleased but the clasp is a bit finnish

Bought this as a Christmas present for my 3 year old son. He loves jack-in-the-boxes and loves this one. The song is bright and easy to hear, the handle rotates smoothly, the movement is reliable. The only criticism is that the lid latch is a bit temperamental. He will catch and hold but usually needs an adult to guide him. Ideally I would like it to be able to do it itself.

  • Fits great for me

You make kids laugh!

This is one of my standard gifts for children of a certain age (1 to 2.5 years). They will wait for the clown to appear and then laugh and laugh. They will want you to do it over and over again. This toy used to come with Velcro on the palms so you could clasp your hands while holding a surprise for baby like a carrot or a candy. etc. It will not be difficult for you to sew a small patch on each palm yourself. Will be a wonderful gift

Reliable classical musical toy Item

I wanted to give it some time to become a 'different toy' before writing a review. My 4 year old LOVES this Jack in the Box. He usually gets bored of toys after a week or two, even if we take turns. But I always find that fool in the house. It is holding up well but my son is very careful with his toys compared to most 4 year olds. It seems very durable. The only negative I can think of is that sometimes the mechanism that holds the lid doesn't reset because the kids stop turning the handle…

Waste of money - broke after a few minutes

We read several reviews before purchasing this product including a one star review which included a photo of a part that broke or fell out after six months. Since there were many positive reviews and the overall rating was good, we still decided to buy the toy; Our four-year-old daughter wanted nothing for her birthday but a jack-in-the-box. We gave it to her today and she was very happy about it. for a few minutes. Less than half an hour after she started playing with him, he stopped working -

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Everything ok

Cute but difficult for a small child to understand

I really wanted this toy to be liked. For real. First they sent me the wrong socket out of the box. Luckily it was still cute so I didn't care. The problem for me was that it is very difficult for a child to play alone. I thought it would be difficult for my daughter to learn how to put the figure back in the box, but this was the easiest! I tried it out as soon as it arrived and being in my 30's it took me a while to figure it out. When the song gets to "Pop goes Weasel," it jumps to "Pop"…

Y 4 stars and not 5 stars? Hmmm.

My son is about 2b (11 years old), has ADHD, OCD and Tourette's Syndrome and (1) he likes "old toys" - toys that we used to play with as children - like ( this engraving, Rubik's Cube, Mr. Potato Head, Kaleidoscope and Devil out of the box). Well, my son wanted the devil out of the box and he chose this clown. You should have seen it light up and instantly fill with hyper excitement and explode with happiness and joy when it arrived and I presented it to him. oh he was just so in love with his…
