Win 7-64 bit and 35ft null modem cable. There were no problems, worked perfectly. I used a Windows installation, not the disk that came with it.

I bought 4 of these for use in a Dell Optiplex 3080 PC and only 1 of them worked. The rest were not even recognized by the operating system (Win 10). I contacted StarTech support and they sent me a replacement to test and it worked. They stated that this card is not compatible with other Optiplex series computers. I have requested replacements for others. but pure effort.

It was easy to install and came with clear instructions. It works perfectly with the latest version of Windows 10 dated 4/2021.

I bought this board for a weak computer that I set up as a Debian based NTP server for my local network. For the time source I used a one pulse per second GPS receiver connected to this serial board. The card installed in a low-profile PCI slot and got up and running from Linux with no issues. Set up the NTP software to read data from this communication port and voila! and Layer One NTP Server was born. This card works perfectly 24/7/365. Highly recommended.

The part has served well. A technical briefing was required to go from low-profile to full-size. The product is easy to install on a new computer. For connection to a flight ticket printer.

The guy from Startech was very helpful in getting me the right adapter, it came early and installed in seconds. If I need another computer part I will return to Startech.
