Low transmission speed but high heat dissipation.

When connected to the USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 port on my desktop, I get a maximum transfer rate of 32 MB/s. Far from 1 Gbps. Windows reported 100% utilization during file transfers at 40MB/s. It never got hot or warmed up when transferring data. This is great compared to some of my other external media which can sometimes burn if I'm not careful. Here's a look at Samsung and SanDisk with their solid metal USB drives.

Reliable External NVMe Enclosure

Had major overheating and USB hanging issues with another external NVMe Enclosure, but this one has worked flawlessly so far. The heatsink is better designed and the USB 3/C function is still reliable for GB transfer and backup. Use with a 1TB Samsung 970 EVO flash drive. EDIT: I had to deduct a star for speed. I peaked at around 400MB/s regardless of whether it was connected to a USB-3 or USB-C port with the included cables. That is only about 3.2 Gbit/s and thus well below the theoretical…

Unreliability in a new AMD-based system

I bought this from Revain on August 6th to use in a new AMD Threadripper build for work. Granted, someone reported using a JMicron JMS583 and I haven't done any research on that chip. I've always had good luck with previous inateck products, so I made my decision quickly. But the BODY is machined from a HARD BLOCK OF ALUMINUM, and it's apparently thicker than I expected because it feels oddly solid in my hands, like it might actually be steel or something. Great performance drive!

In general, the product corresponds to the description. It feels good and safe. All the tools needed to install the SSD were included and installation was a breeze. Read and write speeds were excellent. I used a 1TB Samsung 870 EVO NVMe SSD and the speed was consistently over 950MB/s. The propulsion is also great for keeping a good temperature.
