It will be easy to travel but no pocket for coins etc.

I think this is a good starter set but 13 tiles barely fit the shelves so "East" not all 14 tiles fit on the frame. Once the plastic bag of coins has been opened, you must either tape the bag shut or provide your own Ziploc bag. I recommend keeping all items in a box and sealing with travel tape.

Pros
  • Free for educational use
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model

Amazing for the price!

Really good quality for the price. It's not perfect, but it shouldn't be at this price point. Some parts are slightly warped or have traces of mold. Very easy to read and understand. Slim but not too thin to use. The trays are a bit short for building/pushing walls but not useless. Ideal for traveling or studying without a large investment.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Little things

Yes the posts are too short but it fits me

I will look for other posts. But the tiles are light enough that I can pack a set for a trip. My boyfriend and I traveled around Ireland and Scotland playing mahjong for our evening entertainment. We even took him on the ferry to and from Wales and played the whole time. (We only played together and skipped the Charleston). Racks hold 13 and you don't usually have 14 on a rack at a time.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Crumpled

It did its job

My husband and I recently took a two week trip to the western states. We play the 2 player version of Mah Jongg and brought our MJ travel pack for downtime. When we first sat down to play, we found that the Jokers were left at home. I went to Revain and found this MJ set and sent it to the hotel we were staying at on the scheduled delivery date. So long live Revane who delivers when he says he will deliver. The set itself is ok, the tiles are a good size for travel, but the racks are too short…

Pros
  • Durable Test Results
Cons
  • Some Flaws

Not bad for the price but there are some notable flaws

I was looking for a good mahjong set to take on vacation so I don't have to lug around our full size set. As mentioned in some reviews, this set doesn't come with any kind of case, so we just stacked the tiles in a large zipped bag. No problem. The tiles are quite large - 1 inch by 1.5 inches. They're just very thin. The main downside is that the shelf is big enough to hold 13 tiles (no room to move the tiles) and therefore the wall (18 or 19 tiles long) is much larger than the shelf. It's hard

Cheap set, OK

I've been playing mahjong for a few months and I'm addicted to it. I ordered this set to take with me on a trip and as the package weight is listed as 2.4 pounds it is lighter than my good set. Despite reading other reviews I was still surprised that it arrived in a full size game box. The box is made of lightweight cardboard and must be large enough to fit four plastic racks, each 14 inches long. The tiles are larger than I expected, 1 x 1-1/2 inches each, but thin. Pictures on it There are…
