Variable Carbide Length

I have these to add studs to fat bike tires. I think they will work but they have an uneven amount of carbide protruding at the end, I think half of them protrude by about 1mm.

Pros
  • Car Care
Cons
  • Some Bugs

Used 150 for a set of fat 26 inch studded tires

I added these to my Haibike fat studded tire after 2 spectacular falls on ice. The existing spikes worked well on slick ice, but slipped when riding on hard ice. Since I'm using five pounds of air, the trick to installing it is to inflate the tire to 20psi and they'll skid right away. So far I've found one that I couldn't use due to manufacturing issues. I have used spikes before but saved $50 with them. Another trick is to spike your riding boots.

Pros
  • Tire and wheel care
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other sets

Good product but each set has a few flaws

I was wanting to stud my Maxxis Minion Fat Bike tires and due to the price I chose the Marrkey version over the Grip Studs. Installing them in Maxxis was a problem. I've found that they fit into large lugs/lugs easier than small ones and definitely easier to launch into sipe grooves than blank blocks. I installed more in the front than in the back and pushed a few of the outer buttons. They were smaller and I found that if I start a small step in with a knife edge first, the lugs cut in betterโ€ฆ

Unstable carbide length

I bought these to add studs to fat bike tires. I think they will work but they have an uneven amount of carbide protruding at the end, I think half of them protrude by about 1mm.

Pros
  • Tire and rim care
Cons
  • The list will be long.

poor quality

They may look like clutch spikes but they aren't. The reason for the half price is the poor build quality. The pins ranged from no visible solder holding the carbide to carbide completely covered with solder. The carbides aren't sharp either compared to other brands, they just don't bite.

Pros
  • tire care
Cons
  • price that beats the piggy bank
