Trust the API for everything you test Requires

Easy to use and I trust the API. I use their Reef Master test kit on all my tanks. I had to process my FOWLR tank from ICH and needed a reliable test after copper removal. Of course I went straight to the API

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • A little torn

Many tests in one bottle.

My new fish has started to get covered in white spots. I was present. Lost that fish. Treated the tank with CopperSafe and left the rest alive. With this treatment I didn't have to change all the water or increase the water temperature.

Pros
  • is clear even to the old one
Cons
  • ill thought out

USE THIS KIT AND KILL ALL YOUR FISH

Unless my kit is from a bad batch the readings are a joke! If you don't want to poison and kill your fish, use digital counters for accuracy. It costs four times as much, but go easy on your fish! The picture speaks for itself, both tests were carried out simultaneously with the same water sample! If you use cupramine (ionized copper), anything above 0.7ppm, your fish are dead! Starch (chelated copper), safer than ionized copper, above 2.5ppm and your fish are dead!

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Low repairability

Works like clockwork

This copper test kit worked well when I had a bout of ichthyophthyriasis that I needed to treat in my 55 gallon aquarium - I used Mardel Coppersafe (now from Fritz Aquatics resold) . I had no problem discerning the copper level when looking down through the tube after placing it on a light-colored surface (a sheet of paper works well). I will say that this kit did NOT work with the cordon copper remedy I originally bought from Petco, but since I had to buy Mardel to get rid of ichthyosis I…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • There are new competitors
