Died a few months later.

Only for so long. The card failed catastrophically when it ended up in my smartphone a day after several months of use. Several apps disappeared and I couldn't access my music and photos. I did some troubleshooting and singled out the SD card as the culprit. I've tried reading and reformatting it on multiple devices and trying to get my phone to read it again but to no avail. This is the second 128GB micro SD card that has died for me after a few months. The other was from a lesser known brand,

Didn't last. - Computer Accessories and Peripherals

Not a very good card. Almost a year later, my stock Android phone (Moto Z Unlocked 1st Version running 7.1.1) does not boot into the OS with this card. I've tried formatting the card multiple times and even put the card in my phone after formatting again, but there was no data on the card and the phone wouldn't boot with that card. My phone boots WITHOUT this card and boots fine with other cards. The card works fine on Windows and Windows doesn't report any problems with the card and I've tried

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast

  • Useless features

Be careful! - Computer accessories and peripherals

I bought 128GB in 2016, haven't researched fake and real micro SD yet and everything has worked fine so far (June 2018). I was on vacation taking photos a little, the total video capacity used was just under 25%, around 27GB. Then during my vacation the SD got corrupted for no reason and I lost all my photos and files. Worst of all, I can't reformat this SD card to use it again. I have tried reformatting it using my phone, multiple laptops and other devices (cameras) and every time I try toโ€ฆ

Worked well for 1.5 years

After I bought this to use in my phone (LG G3 at the time, now Samsung Galaxy S7) it kept filling up with 64GB of files. However, after one format and a few file transfers/writes, I think it's definitely dead. I'm a bit frustrated as most of the data was static and read-only - I only wrote Spotify playlists occasionally, and the card itself never exceeded 70GB. However, it no longer accepts writes, including formatting requests, and even if I delete the partition and try to format it, it throws

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Purchased in October 2016 and in December 2017 the files started getting corrupt and in January 2018 this caused my Fire HD 10 to crash. I reformatted the Fire (I thought it might be a loaded Google Store Play) but it kept falling. After I removed the SD card, everything worked fine. The card was not formatted on any device I connected it to (Fire HD, Anker SD adapter in an Asus laptop and also connected directly to Surface Pro 3) and no files were erased. Paint is peeling around the edgeโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Empty

Total waste (start a surface scan when buying any card)

Maybe I got a bad batch (again, I don't know). I bought 1x128GB and it arrived DOA and 1 is partially "working". Also, it won't be formatted because the computer can't see it. A special Paragon freeware that you can download scanned the surface and saw them and they were both full of bad sectors. Same with GREEN Samsung's ASIN: B06XWZWYVP Model: MB-ME128GA/AM) GREEN are terrible too. Samsung's Yellow Evo micro SD cards were absolutely flawless (model MB-MP128GA/AM). Samsung SD cards are great, but make sure you buy the real one

Samsung's genuine Evo Plus (and regular Evo) line of Micro SD cards is there Great. They are reliable and meet advertised speed and capacity specifications. I've been using Samsung cards for years and it's the only brand that has consistently given me no problems year after year. However, don't forget to authenticate the card upon arrival to ensure it's a genuine Samsung card of the advertised capacity. Micro SD cards are a popular counterfeiting tool for scammers because they are cheap andโ€ฆ
