36 deg F drop on Raspberry Pi 3 B+ SOC with fan heatsink

Used with iUniker Raspberry Pi 3 B+ dual fan with Raspberry Pi heatsink (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D5WWNH6) / ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) on my Raspberry Pi 3 B+. When playing N64 (Star Wars Racer) game on my retropie, the SOC temperature went up to 70 degrees C, but after installing the above mentioned fan heatsink with this 3M tape, the temperature on the SOC only reached 50 degrees C. Great product. , I would buy again!

Just set your money on fire.

If you are thinking of buying this you can save yourself a lot of time and hassle just by burning your money. This stuff just doesn't work. All but one of the heatsinks fell off due to gravity within an hour of application. Everything was cleaned properly with alcohol before use. In any case, the tape stuck fairly firmly to the perfectly smooth aluminum and copper heads and had almost no adhesion to the rough plastic shavings you might want to attach heatsinks to.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Out of fashion

only 0.6 W/mK best in radiators

Most TIMs range from 4 to 17 W/mK, at 0.6 that's extremely low. I thought it was 6 but I was definitely wrong. If you are using this on an interface that requires higher heat transfer performance I would use a different tape. Especially when you consider that getting something that transfers 10x more heat at 6W/mK won't be much more expensive. I gave 3 stars because otherwise it works as advertised. most of time. Overall I would not recommend. Especially if you use it to attach a heatsink to…
