So I bought this alarm clock despite having only average reviews but am quite happy with it. why are you talking Well, let's take a closer look at some of the negative points mentioned in other reviews: 1. THE DISPLAY IS TOO BRIGHT The blue display might be a bit bright even when dimmed, BUT it's not the blinding beacon, which is described in some of the other reviews. I usually sleep with my eyes closed and even if I look at the clock I don't have any trouble sleeping. (And if you find it too bright, you can easily fix it, by applying a small piece of dark car window tint to the display - just ask your local tint shop for a piece of trim.) 2. COMPLEXITY OF PROGRAMMING AND OPERATION The fact is that with the alarm clock you not only set the alarm time but also the alarm method ( under the radio, sounds of nature, an external MP3 player), the appropriate volume (so that it will not wake you up with the same volume setting that you used to listen to heavy metal music with when you went to bed), and whether You want to be woken up only on weekdays or all week. So of course programming requires a bit more effort than setting up your old mechanical alarm clock. I found the instructions provided to be pretty clear and was able to complete all the steps in minutes.3. THE CLOCK IS NOT READABLE IN THE WHOLE ROOMReally? And I thought the purpose of an alarm clock was for people to tell the time while they were in bed. Even my wife can read the clock on the other side of the bed without glasses! ALARM SILENCE BUTTON TOO SMALL. This is the only real point I read in other reviews. The button to turn off the alarm is small and is in a row of buttons of the same size. But let's be pragmatic: once you know it's the third key from the right, slide your finger across the keys, count to three, and press — no need to turn around or look up. To make it even easier I put a small bead of epoxy glue on the button so I can now find it with gloves on. (Okay, that's a bit exaggerated, but you understand. Also, I don't wear gloves to bed, just socks - just kidding, I live in Southern California!) 5. POOR RECEPTION WITHOUT ANTENNA Again, right? FM reception is excellent and as I never listen to AM, don't worry about connecting the supplied antenna. But I don't know how you can blame a radio for poor AM reception without hooking up an antenna designed specifically for that purpose. A great little alarm clock for the price. Of course, the sound is not exactly high-quality, but the small size of the watch simply limits the sound quality. Still, it's good enough to catch the news and maybe a song or two before it's time to get up and turn on the boom box in the kitchen, to wake up the rest of the family.
