Review on πŸ’Ύ SanDisk SSD PLUS 1TB: High-Speed Internal Storage for Enhanced Performance - SATA III 6 Gb/s, 2.5 Inch/7mm, Up to 535 MB/s by Tim Airy

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Bare bones, cheaply made but good value and seem to do the job.

This is my third SSD installation and it was relatively easy. One of the challenges was installing an Intel Optane/1T hard drive in my Dell tower. Optane was supposed to work with an SSD drive, but it didn't. Just slowed down. Always gave error messages. I wouldn't set it right. Finally disabled Optane and now everything runs much faster. The old mechanical hard drive kept humming and making an incessant whine. The SSD took care of that. Another issue I encountered when cloning with Reflect 7 was the number and size of partitions. The largest of the 5 partitions wouldn't fit in a standard setup if it wasn't dragged LAST onto the target SSD. Even though it was out of order, it still worked fine. So if you are facing this problem then this is the solution. I used an external USB connection to clone from an internal hard drive. Took about an hour but was perfect. This SSD was significantly cheaper and lighter than the last one installed. All plastic. But it seems to be working fine. Keep in mind that there are no instructions, cloning software, or extra brackets, screws, or hardware to attach or clone via USB. Do your homework before you order. Nothing for beginners. Mechanical hard drives should be banned. Super slow and loud. Switch to an SSD. Very fast and now very cheap. The only way. Note that there are no instructions and no cloning software or additional brackets, screws or hardware to attach or clone via USB. Do your homework before you order. Nothing for beginners.
