A year ago my house had a power surge and some HDMI parts on my TV stopped working. I can only use RCA components. Considering that most updated streaming devices use HDMI cables, this device is exactly what I was looking for. Easy installation, good picture. It flashes a color wheel screen when you switch devices, so don't be intimidated.

Perfect for my application. Wanted to add firestick capability to my car's built-in rear entertainment system with composite bushings. By placing the device in the center console, powering it from a USB cigarette lighter, plugging in the composite cable and voila, we now have a fire stick in the car to stream. The big plus is that this device powers the Fire Stick, so you only need one USB plug to power the adapter and the Fire Stick. It's also very compact.

Works as advertised. The first device lasted 1 year and then suddenly stopped playing sound. There may have been static when we switched component cables from our receiver. On dry winter days, our house was hit by static electricity. I ordered an identical replacement and it solved the sound issue. We don't know whether the block failed on its own after 1 year or whether we burned it with a static discharge. Hoping the new block will last longer and trying to ground ourselves before touching…
