Works with my David Clarks

Bought to use with my David Clark Headset. I started flying and the only headset I had was for military aircraft. That works great. No complaints

Pros
  • Excellent Design
Cons
  • Piggy Bank Price

Don't waste time

Didn't help, returned to Revain. I've seen in other reviews that this product doesn't really change impedance but decided to give it a try anyway. Big mistake, when connecting to my intercom I heard a very high pitched squeak, it didn't work at all. Sent them straight to Revane.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Something else

I use my David Clarke headset from C-17s. .

I use David Clark headset from C-17s. The plug is the correct diameter, but feels like it "clicks" about 1/8 inch less than it's all the way through. When I put it all the way in, it doesn't fit. Does not transmit in any position I am returning the adapter.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

Military & Civilian A/C, works great

Works great exactly as advertised. Tested with Bose Military Headset for KC135 and worked perfectly in Cessna 172. Nothing more to say! Update: 18 months later it still works great and the headset has been switched from an old Bose Aviation X headset to a new Bose A30 headset with the same results. KC-135 - C172, 1980s model.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Almost never

Great for flying around Georgia

Love it. I'm a KC-135 driver and have a standard Bose headset, but I wanted something I could use while flying a C-172. I've used them for about 3 flights so far. I love the adaptor. The only drawback I would say is that the connection between my Bose military headset and the FARO adapter is a bit loose. It seems that the FARO adapter is probably larger by a few microns.

Pros
  • Very good value
Cons
  • Expensive

I bought two of these; one of them works.

I bought two of these; one of them works as advertised. The other, when I plug the headset into the male jack, it doesn't stay on the female jack. I've tried this with many different headsets. You have to keep plugging it back in, which is cumbersome and can be a safety issue when taxiing/flying. Defective manufacturing/quality control.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Hard to say

Not as advertised, suitable for headsets and intercoms

The product I received does not convert between high and low impedance as advertised. I have a Bose A20 ANR headset with a military connector and a low impedance microphone. When used in the Seminoles I can hear but not be heard and everyone on board has a high pitched tone. Based on my experience I assume you need a high impedance microphone on your headset for this product to work. You can buy them separately, but that, along with this overpriced adapter, puts you in the cheap headset rangeโ€ฆ

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • Damaged

Great to be able to use my military David Clarke and Bose in my Cessna!

*****Update****** I've since bought another adapter for my Bose headset that I got from the military to use in my Cessna and it works great! Now I have used these adapters on David Clarks and Bose with great results. I have good transmission and reception quality, no problems or interference. I highly recommend this adapter to anyone who needs it! This allows me to use my David Clarkes that I had in the military for use in my Cessna! I hear well and can transmit. No problems with static orโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Heavy Duty
Cons
  • Requires Socket

Well done but doesn't work well. Electrical engineer not consulted

This adapter does not change the circuit impedance in any way. I've found that headsets with ANR units usually work but sometimes don't and it depends on the aircraft. Wired headsets like the traditional David Clark or Astrocom didn't work at all on the three different C172s I tried using them with. I bought one of these to use with my Fightcom ANR headset which was released while I was working on the KC-135. Yes, I didn't want to buy another headset for the GA lessons on the Cessna. At overโ€ฆ

  • Well built
