Applied white, dries clear. Water based and easy to use.

Everything turned out great on my puzzle. I smeared the material with a brush and smoothed it out with a plastic scraper (from the dollar store). Run the scraper lightly over a piece of sandpaper beforehand to tap off small edges and avoid streaks. Used wax paper under the puzzle, it worked out fine. Try laying out the wax paper behind the edges of the puzzle to collect scraped material. Have paper towels and water on hand to clean up any mess before it dries. I painted the front once and the…

Do a little research before using the product for the first time.

This was the first time I used the Mod Podge and it worked fine. I'm glad I did some reading and research before starting my project as I read that the matte finish dries well without being sticky. After applying the image to the wood surface with the Mod Podge, I let it dry as instructed and sealed it with acrylic sealer. Mod Podge is applied thickly and you need to be patient and have a good brush to apply it without leaving streaks. I was a bit wary of sanding down the dried brush strokes…

Good Stuff best in Craft Supplies

I just discovered Mod Podge and I love it! I was commissioned to come up with a cute idea for my daughter's gymnastics team. This year there were new warm-ups and shiny red backpacks and we needed nice matching shoes. We originally thought of bows, but after watching a few videos and searching the internet I decided to add glitter to some foils. I have to say it turned out great! The shoes were on sale for $3, I bought a Mod Podge, some red glitter and voila, I'm the new Hero Mom! Everyone…

Great for my mini art

I cover switch plates and sockets with high quality photos and sell them on Etsy. I love this product as it dries clear with a slight sheen. So it's not quite a matte finish, but for me it's better because it brings out the color in the image. The image actually looks better after this is applied. Sometimes I can leave a brush stroke or two, but it's my fault for using too many of them. When applied in a thin layer, it dries smoothly with no visible brush marks. This is perfect for what I do. Great results easy

I used this mod podge to help my grandkids with special decoupage gifts for their parents. Toddlers made finger-painted coasters and a five-year-old decorated glass candle holders with a napkin—both easy and fairly quick with the Mod Podge. Of course I did most of the work for the little ones, gluing their drawings onto the tiles and covering them with 5 coats of Mod Podge. The five-year-old completed her project with much less help. A word of caution: I think many projects would be most…

Ideal for storing completed jigsaw puzzles in a frame

I use it to store jigsaw puzzles. He's perfect for that. They come in different glosses, but I like the matte version for the puzzles I'll be framing. This product is slightly viscous and will leave brush marks on the surface; However, I have found that thinning down to a thinner consistency produces a smoother finish. I place parchment paper (a kitchen variety) under the assembled puzzle and "paint" the surface of the Mod Podge. Once it dries (it's white and becomes transparent after drying) I

If you use as a screensaver for jigsaw puzzles, use a squeegee!

I bought this to put together a jigsaw puzzle. One of the other reviews suggested using a squeegee and that was the best advice. It only took 2 coats to seal my puzzle and you can't even tell it's glued on. The white consistency helps determine if you've missed any stains, but it dries to a translucent finish. I imagine that if you use a brush, you're probably leaving brush marks. Using a squeegee guarantees no marks. While the instructions state that the finish can be "sticky" and needs to be…

Highly recommend to everyone else, ESP make your own! Worth buying

Works great! I've been using the Matte Mod Podge for years for all my paper work and to cut or gloss my creations! Mod Podge is perfect for all your binding needs, from primitive to farmhouse. Also, their Mod Podge Rocks website has tons of videos and a blog full of ideas or tips on how best to use their product. This purchase was the cheapest I found for the Mod Podge, even with a coupon from a craft store! Will definitely be buying it here from now on, especially where I'm going through it a…
