CrystalMark 7 speeds on a new (Early 2020) Dell laptop. 128 MB Bought in October 2020 but only tested today. Haven't used them long enough to report durability. 1010MB/s Read 628MB/s USB C Write 3.2460MB/s Read 440MB/s USB A 3.2 Write. Gets pretty hot on long workloads, but my other branded USB sticks work for almost all cases. I will only use them to backup my daily work, so they are mostly incremental backups. I'm happy to recommend a product if it works well, otherwise I'd report it too…

Works great as a boot drive for Raspberry Pi 4b

ORICO 256GB Mini M.2 NVME SSD works great as a boot drive for RPI 4B. Very fast but very hot. Other than that, though, I've put it under heavy use and haven't encountered any performance issues. The body is aluminum and plastic, so I'm going to add some heatsinks to the aluminum to keep it cool. The speed difference is incredible!

Use as boot drive for Raspberry Pi 4

Overall fast and ultra fast compared to SD card. Didn't change my Pi Desktop experience but definitely improved it and is pretty affordable for the power.

Surprisingly fast and lots of storage

Use this device frequently to transfer files from place to place or from computer to computer. It can store quite a few programs that help in repairing PC or network systems. It is also possible to clone or create an HD image that has a lot of space on this drive. The transfer speed is also amazing. brian

This device is not durable. Defective after 6 months.

I was content with it until it died. Luckily I have more than one spare drive and switch between them otherwise I'd be a really sad panda really. I backed up about every two weeks, sometimes monthly. Wasn't used very much before it stopped working. Once it broke down about a month ago, then it came to life on another computer, now it doesn't work on that either. I recommend staying away from it.

Extremely fast until it gets hot and stops

The first one they sent had problems and I couldn't safely connect it to my computer's fast USB-C port. Sent it back and got a new one. This works better - more reliable and faster. Can move files from ORICO drive to my internal drive at around 900MB/s and write from my internal drive to ORICO at around 600MB/s. up to 50-100MB/s. This usually happens after moving about 10 gigabytes of data. The drive feels very hot, so I think it's a heat issue. This thing is tiny and obviously doesn't have a…

A good alternative for backing up computer data

I use this external SSD to back up data from my computer. I used to use Micro SD cards, USB sticks for backups. However, this SSD is a significantly faster option. I have an older USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C port on my computer. I've seen transfer rates up to 500 GB/s. Later versions of USB ports should have higher transfer rates. I would definitely recommend this product if your computer or smartphone has a USB 3.1+ (Gen 1 or Gen 2) Type-C port. USB-C to USB-C and USB-A to USB-C cables are included.

Pros
  • WARRANTY AND COMPATIBILITY: ORICO offers 3 years warranty and lifetime technical support. This external solid state drive is compatible with Windows 7/8/10, Mac OS, Linux and Android systems.
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Incredible storage space in a small size

***edit: It didn't even last a year! I am so disappointed. It's good that I make backups of my backups. Otherwise I would have lost everything stored on the drive. Buy another brand. End edit*** This solid state drive (SSD) is physically 1/4 the size of my other "regular" external hard drive! And also. This is the actual size shown. 1TB I tested it with a test program even before I put the first bit of data into it. I bought it with many doubts. 1TB of storage on something the size of 2 flash…

Pros
  • PERFECT CONNECTION: Includes USB Type-C to C and USB Type-C to A cables for a plug-and-play connection with PCs, Macs, smartphones, cameras and other devices. Drivers are not required.
