The project raises a lot of controversy in the digital currency environment due to the direct connection with multi-level marketing (MLM) futureNet and FutureAdPro investment programs, which some are accused of operating in the dishonest and illegal Ponzi scheme. Futurocoin is also criticized for its aggressive marketing message, aimed at encouraging people who do not have the proper technical knowledge to verify them. Finally, the object of Criticocin's criticism is its centralized structure itself, which contradicts the idea of cryptocurrency
