I really like Mithril, but the wider adoption of React and it's resulting ecosystem is a big benefit. With Mithril I learned a lot and think it's terrific, but there are reasons you might want something more widely adopted for major projects. You'll find more guidance, examples and existing code with React than you would with Mithril.

the philosophy of the Mithril framework, the writings of the author are clear and informative, the documentation is great, handling various use cases.
