It is a project that was born in the middle of the network, and for having as its purpose to provide a decentralized internet without censorship, without privacy and without limited speeds; and it is not controlled by any body. It is controlled only by its users and community. Having one of the best positions in the following categories: Security, Speed, Privacy, Self-Sustainable Ecosystem.
Skycoin is a third generation decentralized cryptocurrency, designed and conceived by a group of Bitcoin and Ethereum developers. Skycoin's goal is to reclaim some of the original essence of Bitcoin and take power away from miners - it's a derivation of Bitcoin and Ethereum.
There is total anonymity in their transfers and in their wallets. It is more ecological than other cryptocurrencies, since it does not need as much computing power to mine it and there is not as much electricity expenditure. Skycoin is not mineable, however there is a currency associated with it called Skyhours, similar to NEO and its GAS. We will earn Skyhours by keeping Skycoin in a private wallet. I do not consider it as profitable for those people who are entering the world of cryptocurrencies. However, the Skycoin platform is completely secure, infinitely scalable, and ISP-independent.
