Zilliqa was created with the goal of resolving this issue. The foundation of Zilliqa was designed to enhance transaction speed by increasing the number of miners in the system (this is in contrast to most other blockchain platforms).

The working method of Zilliqa relies on the sharding of the mining network into smaller sections, which speeds up transaction processing.

ZILLIQA grew out of a well-funded initiative at Singapore's National University (National University of Singapore). So, prior to the ICO, Zilliqa had a fully working blockchain technology, which was developed by the Zilliqa team under the supervision of the National University of Singapore.
