Two Too-Tights - A Big Design/Quality Control Issue?

2 out of 3 brush heads do not fit the Philips Sonicare HX6511/50 toothbrush. The fit is too tight and requires a strong, uncomfortable grip when the brush head makes contact with the toothbrush to remove it. If you try to remove the brush head by pulling the neck, it will split in two, leaving the brush base firmly attached to the toothbrush. I have a stronger grip on my fingers than most (I can bend the cap of a beer bottle by pinching it between my index finger and thumb), but I have to use a towel to squeeze the base of the brush head to close it afterwards remove with each use - I share a toothbrush with my wife. I tried using a brush head that isn't fully attached for easy removal. however, in most cases the brush head would slip off the toothbrush. Through daily experimentation, I was able to find a "sweet spot" such as B. a fit that wasn't too loose and not too tight, but required careful brushing manipulation that became too frustrating for even a challenge-seeking geek. An engineer like me. I started using one of the two snug attachments about 5 weeks ago. Since then and after more than 50 cycles of seizing and disassembling, the brush head has not noticeably loosened to fit the toothbrush. It's still just as difficult to take off as the first time it was paired - this is obviously a subjective observation as I don't have a stress/strain gauge to use for actual measurements :) If they really were made by Philips then they are the company has to tighten the quality control process for this product again! I'm happy with the toothbrush and often wonder how I've managed without it all these years. Every time I use it, it keeps my mouth feeling "dentally clean" until the brush head wears out after 9 or 10 months. previous research efforts.
