If you have a lot of time it's probably worth buying parts and making them yourself. I do most of the repairs myself at home, but it definitely wasn't fun. After de-energizing the pump and depressurizing the water in the basement sink, the next step is to drain the water into the tank. Then remove the old one and install the new one. Lots of knee time (buy knee pads and make sure you have a huge stack of rags).
