Purchased for a 2007 Dakota. Despite what the instructions say, DO NOT attempt to connect any wire to the wiring harness on the rider footrest. Instead, connect the wire to the wire harness on the B pillar (the one where the driver's door closes). Connect the light green and brown/orange wires from the wiring harness inside the B-pillar (not the 'grey' and 'yellow' as the very vague instructions describe) and you will be successful. I had to find out the hard way and spent a lot of time looking at various posts on the internet for quite a while. This article requires moderate patience, physical dexterity, and knowledge of how modern plastic car interiors fit together. If you've never wired or installed a radio/stereo in your dash and don't want to run and tie 20 feet of wire through the firewall and along the dirty, greasy underside of your car's chassis, this project isn't for you. With the help of on-the-job research (online) and trial and error (which cables again?), the installation took about 4 hours. I have saved future buyers time by providing the correct cables and location. Once installed, the item works great and looks very professional. Block works great.
