I bought this remote to work with my old ol' Genie garage door opener which doesn't have a learn button but has a plunge system. 12 small switches located in the up/down positions. I made 2 mistakes. I first used the remote left by the previous owners as my DIP mapping. A time consuming mistake. I have no idea why this remote has a set of DIP switches, but it does and does not match the garage door opener. Key learning, only trust the garage door opener! Second, I used YouTube videos but they seemed confusing to me. Pay special attention to the fall part of the video, I used the dark part of the video as the switch point when it should be the light part. That means I had wrong positions or vice versa. Overall it's a good system, I would never buy another and I only bought this because I have an old genie garage door opener that works like CHAMP and I'm too cheap to replace it :). I like my outdoor chamber keyboard better, but it didn't allow DIP switches.
