During the days I was trying to get my son to wear something other than basketball shorts and a t-shirt, I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly he took to this raincoat. Lightweight and definitely compact, the Marmot brand does not disappoint with this jacket. The seams are well welded and the zipper closes quickly and easily. We did some testing in the rain and the higher collar protected the neck well when the hood was down. With the hood on, he didn't complain at all about the jacket leaking. Overall this is a great quality raincoat for my 11 year old sixth grader who is of a smaller stature. Definitely recommend buying one size bigger.
