Premium raincoat.

The average size is suitable for an average 9 year old child. My son is 52" and this jacket is a little long for him. We have to roll up our sleeves (once) or they get in the way of his arms. It's much nicer and more breathable than plastic raincoats. My son loves it in the Playing rain and he loves this jacket. It has a great hood design (it has a beak) to prevent water from getting on the face and inside the jacket. We've washed it a few times and it's holding up well. Thank you for reading I

Pros
  • seems well done.
Cons
  • Dark green may not be appropriate for certain outfits or conditions.

Medium = size 8-10 in my opinion

My child is a size 10 and the average fits just fine. If you need a close-fitting rain jacket, you can choose a medium size 8-10; If you like it a little roomier, consider Medium for 6-8. This is a very high quality raincoat with a fully waterproof construction and softness as opposed to the rigid construction of cheaper jackets. With this jacket, your child can run and play with full freedom of movement! It's not as long as most raincoats, so you may need waterproof pants if you play a lot in…

Pros
  • Perfect for a nine year old. Follow the size chart and you will be satisfied.
Cons
  • Not waterproof. It behaved very poorly in the rain despite the declared water resistance.

Great coat for rain, wind or layering

My 9 year old says it's cool because it has "invisible pockets" and a secure zipper. It is very comfortable for him and looks great. For most shirts he wears a medium size which is just the right size with room for a warm sweater underneath on cold days. It is also light and has many pockets. He will have a lot of it!

Pros
  • Great lightweight waterproof jacket! Perfect for skiing worn with warm Smartwool under layers.
Cons
  • The jacket may not be suitable for all body types due to different sizes.

Lightweight and water repellent

My husband and I have had our own Marmot Precip jackets for 10 years and they are still water repellent and have large hoods to keep water out of our faces. The water will fizz and roll off instantly if you're out in the rain or a light drizzle for just a few minutes. (Of course, if you're out in the rain for a long time, water will seep in.) Also, this jacket is very light, so I love raincoats, so I can wear them underneath if necessary, but I don't on humid and warm days it won't too hot. I'm

Pros
  • Ideal for stowing in a school backpack for use on warm rainy days. Looks cool on a boy.
Cons
  • The product description image has a legend indicating the presence of zippers. The product obtained had no zippers.

Well made waterproof rain jacket

This is a very well made rain jacket. The stitching and lining are very detailed and the material feels strong and durable. This is a great raincoat for my child as it is waterproof.

Pros
  • Serves as an excellent outer layer in lower temperatures.
Cons
  • The jacket may not be as durable as other brands or products.

Great raincoat but a bit small

UPDATE: I switched from L to XL after learning that the Marmot is a little different than normal. However, XL is almost identical to L, not much larger at all! Well, the jacket itself is great, but the sizing isn't. I will also be returning the XL size because when I buy an expensive coat I want to wear it for several years and not just 1.++++++++++++++++ +++++ +++ +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ My son has just turned 11, he is a bit taller and thinner. Now he usually wears size M (10-12). He…

Pros
  • Windproof material offers additional protection against cold wind.
Cons
  • The jacket may not be as waterproof as advertised

Very good quality suits me

Great rain cover or outer cover for kids. The quality is no worse than an adult jacket. The zippers are good. The material is robust and durable. There's no insulation, but in cold weather it's fine if you cover it with a layer. The green and blue colors are slightly darker and therefore not very visible, if that is important to you. The medium size is suitable for children from 7 to 10 years old.

Pros
  • Breathable fabric provides ventilation and prevents overheating
Cons
  • The jacket may be uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time.

Great, comfortable jacket.

It's much better than those shiny plastic rubber raincoats for kids with bright prints. In addition to the classic look, the jacket is very comfortable to wear and easy to move - children love it. It's also easy to pack, although comfortable enough to wear like a regular light jacket. The coverage is also excellent.

Pros
  • Offers exceptional value for money
Cons
  • The jacket may not be comfortable for customers with certain sensory sensitivities.

Excellent rain jacket - high quality

What a wonderful raincoat - this is one of the best made and highest quality items I have seen, especially for a child. The lightweight jacket has a perfect fit and features a hood that tucks into the collar when not in use. The zip is covered to keep out rain. As it is lightweight and meant for rainy days I would recommend going up a size if using in winter or autumn when heavier clothing can be worn. Please note that this is not a winter or cold weather jacket. Highly recommend for your kids…

Pros
  • Light jacket. Fits great and comfortable. Size M runs a bit loose on my tall 8 year old son but can be worn.
Cons
  • The jacket may not be warm enough for extremely cold weather conditions.

Perfect for three seasons

The Marmot PreCip Boys Lightweight Waterproof Rain Jacket is perfect for three seasons. Size M fits my grandson who is 9 years old and size 10 fits very well. It is beautifully designed and truly waterproof. I recommend this jacket.

Pros
  • Great raincoat - love the Marmot quality! Works perfectly!
Cons
  • The jacket may not be available in smaller sizes for younger children.

Pockets in the wrong place

This jacket was exactly what I wanted until I put it on. The pockets are too high. You don't want to stand there with your hands in your pockets. It's uncomfortable and awkward.

Pros
  • Offers more mobility and freedom of movement
Cons
  • The jacket may not be available in stores near certain customers.

my kids love it

I use the Colombian version of Precipe (better pockets, worse hood, no vents, smaller pack size, and better outer material for cold weather), but there's no kid's version, and my kids wear special "winter coats" because they don't want to mess around with them Layers. So that's great (if your kid isn't too boxy, this is for skinny kids). All of the adult features seem to be included in the kid version, and the loose pocket feature that bugs me in the adult version works really well for kids in…

Pros
  • Made by MARMOT, a well-known outerwear brand.
Cons
  • The jacket may not be waterproof in heavy rain or snow.

Excellent waterproof case from Marmot.

I have been buying Marmot clothes for my son for several years and have never been disappointed with their quality. This PreCip rain jacket is no exception. This jacket is waterproof, making it perfect for rainy days. Due to its light texture, it can be worn at any time of the year. It can be worn alone over a t-shirt in the warmer months and over a fleece and soft shell in cold weather (due to the large sizes). It's lightweight and easily folds up to fit in a backpack just in case. This PreCip

Pros
  • Good quality jacket. Simple and thin, just for rain. Great for layering.
Cons
  • The price may be too high for some customers

quality and performance

That's a good raincoat. The Marmot jacket features the breathable waterproofing technology NanoPro. Keeps my active son cool and dry. At the moment it fits my 10 year old perfectly so I hope we can use it again when he is 11. Overall very happy with the quality, features and finds it very comfortable to wear.

Pros
  • Adjustable hood offers additional weather protection
Cons
  • The jacket may not have enough pockets to store essentials.

Great thing in my opinion

My 9 year old loves it! Great colour, easy to pack, fits over a hoodie. I ordered Wednesday. As a rule, he wears the 10th dress size for boys.

Pros
  • The stylish design makes it a favorite for boys of all ages.
Cons
  • The jacket may not be available in larger sizes for taller or taller children.

Quality product in my rating

We have bought many Marmot brand rain jackets and this one is as good as the others. It fits my thin but tall teenager and keeps her dry. Concealed zip and ventilated hooded interior keep your head dry. Very light and easy to store when travelling. We often wear our raincoats on the plane to keep us warm when the flight is cold but not bulky. A good product.

Pros
  • The robust construction ensures long-term use
Cons
  • The jacket may not be available in other colors or designs.

Can't beat PreCip

The whole family has them. My wife and I are using the second one after a lot of use. Price and performance are unbeatable with PreCip.

Pros
  • Comes with a MARMOT Limited Lifetime Warranty.
Cons
  • The collar of the jacket may not be high enough to protect the neck from wind or rain.

fantastic new review

This is a fantastic raincoat. It wicks moisture well and looks great too. It's very light (and therefore easy to pack) but offers excellent weather protection.

Pros
  • The lightweight design makes it easy to carry and move
Cons
  • The jacket may not have enough insulation for colder climates.

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Almost seaworthy. good for me

- The main zipper is a large plastic tooth with a metal pull and strap, goes to the neck and has a garage. - Double flap with velcro to snap all the way down. I found it strange, but not the material. - Some padding around the neck and lower face where the collar opens, but otherwise unlined. . The hood also has a small integrated visor. Sleeve measures approximately 18" long including 1" elasticated cuff with durable stretch. Approximately 23" long, center back. 2 front zippered pockets, both…

Pros
  • The product was just as described.
Cons
  • The zipper can get stuck or break over time

Cool rain jacket in my review.

Small enough to be folded into a backpack just in case. Marmot is a quality brand - not cheap but when your son outgrows this jacket it will still be in good condition and can be passed on. It will definitely go to camp with the boy in our family.

Pros
  • High-quality materials ensure durability and longevity
Cons
  • The jacket may not be suitable for prolonged use due to wear and tear.
