After 15 years my old steamer is over. It's a nice upgrade with some smart features like a removable bottom in the trays so you can steam really tall items (like corn on the cob standing upright). The old one still worked fine, but the trays have cracked over time (dishwasher safe. They'd probably last forever if hand washed) and the stainless steel body of this one suits our kitchen better. We mainly use it to steam rice. quite expensive Zojirushi rice cooker (costs 3 times as much as this steamer), but the HB steamer cooks about twice as fast. Zojirushi is brilliant at keeping cooked rice hot and edible for a very long time, but we don't, which is why it's been pretty much supplanted by the HB steamer.
