It only works with Displayport to VGA, not VGA to Displayport.
Probably a good cable but I will never know. I bought a monitor with two inputs, HDMI and Displayport. Because I work on different computers, I needed to be able to connect a VGA monitor without having to swap cables from my system. I wanted the cable to go from VGA to Displayport. I couldn't read the title and full description and said it was just a possibility. I won't return it, it was my fault. My rating is bad because the title for this and others should be DISPLAY ON VGA ONLY!. Instead I bought a switch that works.
