I've had one of these for a few years and just bought a second one to leave with my boyfriend. In my opinion, this is the best way to brew a cup of loose leaf tea. If you're making a whole pot, it will likely be a bit small to allow the tea to expand sufficiently, but it's perfect for one cup. The top rim sits well on most mugs - they have to be very large or small not to fit. It holds up well over time. It's great that it's a small pore treated piece of metal that's very easy to clean, unlike a net that can get snagged on bits of tea (especially herbs like chamomile/rooibos). I definitely recommend it.
