I can't tell you how long it will last (just installed) but it is double stitched and seems strong enough. Removing the old door strap is like surgery. Do not do what is shown in the picture in the instructions or you will cut the wire. Instead, do not make cuts deeper than 1/4 inch with scissors. I started watching instructional videos online. You will need to remove part of the door panel (do not remove the entire door panel). First, CAREFULLY cut the electrical tape (black tape) with a utility knife ONLY over the old webbing, not through the webbing. Don't cut old tape holding the wires together on the outside of the webbing. Use scissors to remove small pieces of the old tape to keep it out of the way. Then simply close the new zipper. Looks great.
