Worked where the internal Blueray drive didn't
I bought this to convert some old home video CDs to .mp4. The original videos were in .vob format. I first tried to convert a read from an internal Blueray drive on a Windows 10 laptop. The conversion software was Handbrake. After the drive has been running for a while, it will behave erratically and spin as fast as it can without reading any data. I then plugged in the Mythtec USB drive and successfully. It took 35 minutes to convert the entire CD of about 2 hours with 480 video lines to .mp4. Such a great result. The Mythtec drive was easy to use and plug and play.
