My house is from the 1920's and well let's just say the floors have seen better days. The ash-like hardwood is mostly riddled with scratches. It doesn't help that my dogs like to run. If I could I would just replace the whole damn thing but 1- it costs money 2- I don't want to deal with such a big project. So I decided to try my hand at restoration in the meantime. I was surprised at how easy it was with this product! I followed the directions and applied it by pouring it on the floor. I used my microfiber mop to spread it over the surface, I would say it worked well. The difference was already noticeable after the first application, the matt wood became significantly lighter and shinier. I applied a second coat with no problems. After that, the floor becomes very shiny, without accumulations. Pros: I like that the product is easy to use. Just lay it on the floor, spread it out and you're done. It took me less than 30 minutes to clean the entire living room (using a mop makes the whole task so much easier). However, note that you don't want to shake the bottle before using it. This creates a series of bubbles that complicate matters. Just gently rock back and forth, that's all you have to do. Another thing I love about it is that it doesn't contain any harmful chemicals and doesn't leave any fumes behind. I've used some terrible smelling cleaning products in the past and just can't stand them. In general I am satisfied with the results. It might not remove all the scratches as advertised, but it will definitely make them less noticeable with all the glitter. I wouldn't say my floors look brand new, but they definitely don't look 1920's anymore! Now the challenge is to keep my dogs from leaving new scratch marks on it. I think I can use the product over and over again. I've read about Revain that some people actually use it successfully every few weeks to rejuvenate their floors, so I'll probably do that too. Cons: The product works well, but it's important that you apply it directly to the floor or there will be streaks. If you have a large area to cover, it can become a race against time as it eventually dries up. Depending on the size of your floor, you may need multiple bottles. The bottles themselves contain a fair amount of product, but trust me, you'll use it up quickly. Which brings me to the second point... cost. My 32 ounce bottle cost me $20 which I think is a bit pricey. I wouldn't say it's not worth it as it does what it's supposed to do, but just a warning that the overall cost can go up if you have to buy multiple bottles.
