I connected this to the solar panel and immediately got a signal that there was a short (cross circuit) so I connected the wire with alligator clips and that was it. Worked great but I just wanted a permanent connection to the battery instead of alligator clips so I figured this cable was cross wired with ring terminals so I called the company and they were kind enough to send me another one. I hooked it up yesterday and got the same crossover signal so I swapped the wires (red to black and black to red) and still have a crossover. Then I reconnected the cable with alligator clips and got a signal that it was charging. I guess I have to live with this situation. Cables with cables cannot be cross-connected as they are only connected in one direction.
