The Sony MDR-EX15AP is the same as the MDR-EX15LP but with a microphone and button. The headset is compatible with LG and Samsung, it will not work with Nokia phones. I can compare EX15AP(LP) with used AKG K324, AKG IP2, Samsung EHS64 (original) - all from the same price category. The sound of the EX15AP is close to that of the AKG K324 (the best of the bunch), but the lower-mid frequencies (~250 Hz, the so-called "upper bass") are less pronounced. In K324, the bass is strongly dependent on the position of the "plug" in the ear, the EX15AP does not have this drawback. In general, they stay in the ears perfectly, better than all these. Sound - there is no point in talking about any breadth of the "crystal clear stage", attacks, etc. in this price category ($15). The sound is normal, the bass is there, the highs do not collapse, everything is clean. Disadvantages and individual preferences are leveled by the equalizer (especially ViPER FX 4 Android). Microphone - good sensitivity and, so to speak, good selectivity. In public transport, you can talk without bringing it close to your mouth, and the noise does not interfere with the conversation. Plug - angular L-shaped - personally for me a minus, someone can be a plus. All in all, MDR-EX15AP for mp3 format and phone/smartphone is an excellent choice. The cord would be even softer silicone. Those who need flac from a quality player, of course, need to choose something much better / more expensive.
