We've made our shutters from XPS foam, which itself is too flammable to be safe. Of all the FR color options, Contego was the only one I found that allows you to use a topcoat of something else over their color. In fact, they recommend it. Otherwise this color will be wasted. That said, don't open it until you're ready to paint, or you'll lose what's stuck to the bucket. It took four coats to reach the (roughly) recommended Contego thickness. The later layers use significantly more paint than the first. I assume he's fine. These blinds touch each other and other things, so the usual stickiness of latex paint bothers me. The sticking is much less than I expected, but not zero.
