First, the Bluetooth controlled thermometer does not require location information (GPS) when cooking. That's a great idea, but I've had nothing on me but inaccurate readings and lost connections. Even at 6 feet away (with the extension cord plugged in) it loses connection to my phone. At the same time I'm using a Weber iGrill thermometer and the ambient temperature reading from the meat stick fluctuates higher and lower than the Weber which remains constant. I bought this thing hoping to be more than 6ft away from a smoker and keep an eye on the temp, but it looks like they have some software/hardware issues that they need to address. The X-Tender was supposed to let me relax on the couch (25 feet away) but that didn't work. I will return my item.
