Review on ๐Ÿ”ข Fuzion Mini Digital Kitchen Weight Scale - 500g/ 0.01g, for Jewelry, Food, Nutritional Intake - LCD Display, Tare Function, Battery included by Veronica Toledo

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Have a calculator handy if you can't exactly divide by two in your head.

I bought these because I needed to weigh some 2.625" x 1.75 x .50 printer cartridges. I clean them and then refill them. They need to dry completely before refilling, so they should weigh between 13.6g and 14.0g G. I have a smaller pocket scale that I use but I don't feel comfortable weighing the cartridges as they aren't big enough so I have to keep the cartridges on his balancing measuring cups .so i bought a new larger scale with a table big enough to put the ammo on it and that measured at least a tenth of a gram and showed the weight.i really had to search a bit because there were a lot of scales out there that measure in one gram increments, like 1g, 2g, 3g, etc. It took some attention to find a gram scale that measures up to tenths, so I found this scale It's the right size, measures to a hundredth of a gram m and was "exactly". The scales come, I take them out. We weighed the cartridges to make sure they were dry enough, but unfortunately they weren't. I tested it on a smaller scale and they agreed. I only calibrated the small scales so I knew they were accurate. Aha! So I'm doing the ammo weigh-in and it's going well. I ordered a set of calibration weights to check the scale regularly. Therefore, confidently, I began to calibrate the scale according to the instructions. If the measured weight matches the calibration weight, "passโ€ will appear on the screen. Luckily my weight set had enough weights to add 100, the required calibration weight, the screen showed 99.996g but the scale showed no pass. The scale has a margin of error in its measurements and this result should have been within the margin of error, but the scale did not show continuity. I turned off the scale and tried again, same result. "Wash, Rinse, Repeat" two more times and when I put a 50 gram weight on the scale it briefly showed 100 grams and then passed and then 200 grams. I figured the calibration process required the measurement a second weight and did not have a 200g calibration weight. So I went out and weighed a 50g calibration weight. He was dead. 100 g. Well, if you divide by two, that's for sure. I thought wow this is the way out and ran the calibration process again but this time when I put the 50g weight on the scale it said 100g and then PASS? I turn it off and then back on to eliminate anything that might be causing this. You know exactly the same procedure that every PC manufacturer tells you to turn off and restart your computer. This is also what tech support does for you for any electronic device, even if you tell them you've already done it 3 times. So if it works for computers, printers and monitors, why not. I have no idea why it didn't work. So I moved on to the second tech support question: unplug the device, wait, plug it back in and see if that wipes it. This thing doesn't have a plug but it does have batteries so I took them out, waited a minute and plugged them back in, turned on the scale and put a 50g weight in it - 100g. There is no tech support number, email or website to contact so I am furious. But I'm not kidding, this thing shows exactly twice the weight of the object placed on it and very accurately. All you have to do is divide by two, which I don't have the patience for. I have yet to see if it's worth returning. If I get free shipping and a full refund then it's worth it, if not, well. Thank you for bearing my grief story. Pros: Arrived well packaged, arrived undamaged. A large tray and a small tray are placed above the weighing table. Easy to use. Easy to read. Cons: Worked great for a day, gave good weights.
