Review on Enhance Your Wi-Fi Range with TP-Link N300 Range Extender (TL-WA850RE) by Wiktor Jak ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

In general, its pretty good, an equal number of pros and cons.

In fact, it is not much better than cheap Chinese crafts from aliexpress for 600-700. Before buying this router, I just ordered one for myself. It roughly also cut the speed, but at least did not distort the MAC addresses of network devices. Now I'm thinking, either return this "amplifier" or sell the Chinese one. Has some pros: 1) A beautiful body that will not disfigure the interior of a bright apartment. 2) More or less, normal operation in access point mode i. E. some adapter "Wi-Fi - wired ethernet", although I did not need it. 3) Good famous brand and long stable performance hope. 4) Suitable for an undemanding user, most likely you will get your 10-20 megabits per second of the Internet. 5) Programmatically turn off the indicator light, and in time, so as not to interfere with sleep)))) 6) In amplifier mode, can make a new wireless network with a new name (SSID) or can work directly under the name of the main network. Has some cons: Only 2 shortcomings, but which cross out all the advantages. 1) ATTENTION! AS "AMPLIFIER" CUT SPEED! SOMETIMES MORE THAN 5 TIMES! The main router is also TP-LINK, and the top one with 300 Mbps at a frequency of 2.4 GHz. I measured the speed of copying files over the air from the phone. This is laughter and tears as the speed drops from 5000 kilobytes per second to 500-1000! Yes, the speed is slightly higher if you create a new network with a new SSID. 2) IT CHANGES the MAC addresses of devices, replacing the first 3 bytes with their own! This is beyond good and evil! What do engineers think? Even cheap nameless crafts from China do not do this. You can’t really make static IP addresses on the DHCP of the main router, or you need to raise a full-fledged Amazon and prescribe fault tolerance parameters, and even that will not help in all cases. Sorry, this is complete nonsense.
