I'm pleasantly surprised at how much I like this irrigator. In my opinion, water flow is the ideal pressure. Strong enough to feel like it's doing its cleaning job, but not too strong to feel like it's doing any harm. The slight pulsation of the water jet is actually pleasant. I floss everyday so I can't tell if it will be too much if your gums aren't used to flossing. I just bring a cup of fresh water to the bathroom every day, then throw it in the dishwasher and clean it the next day. The tube easily detaches from the floss so you can take it off and let it dry between uses to prevent bacteria from building up in the tube. I just think it makes me a little more conscious about keeping my floss clean. Wo as if I had one with a reservoir attached I would most likely leave water in it for a while and not let the hose dry properly and that wouldn't be good. So this system works great for me. Overall it works as I had hoped. I am satisfied and recommend!
