This is a great kettle, but the company's quality control department needs to do even better. The first kettle I got didn't whistle at all and the company told me it couldn't be repaired but they would replace it as I just bought it. Big! Sent back and got a new one. The new one worked great, heated water quickly, whistled loudly (but not too loudly) and had a very well thought out ergonomic insulated handle. I liked it very much! Until 2 days ago - 6 months almost the day I received it - the entire lid assembly fell apart when I removed the lid. Mind you, it didn't get stuck and there was no "struggle" to solve it; It just fell apart into 4 different parts! I've only used the kettle once a day on average and have never had any problems with it. Very disappointed as it's a great kettle but clearly not always made.
