Review on Reliable and Efficient Motorcraft SW6409 Door Jamb Relay for Smooth Operations by Mark Allen

I bought this door jamb relay because my courtesy light would not turn on when I opened the driver's door from the inside. Also, when I opened the driver's door from the outside, the interior light only came on because it activated the light timer (which gave time to get in the car and put the key in the ignition), but I found that the interior light would go out after 30 seconds too. with the driver's door open. This relay serves as a switch when the door latch is open, ie the interior lighting remains on when the door is open and off when the door is closed. and I also think it fixed my problem with the alarm going off unexpectedly. Previously my alarm would start going off unintentionally when I thought that this relay might have been tampered with (and shorted out) causing the alarm to go off without warning. It may be a coincidence, but after replacing this relay I didn't have an unexpected audible alarm. install/replace. I would be happy if such a simple spare part didn't cost so much.
