Review on Stainless Steel Deck Rack For Mazda Miata - Surco DR1007 - Removable And Easy To Install by Aaron Clayton

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fantastic purchase to expand cargo space; attaches easily/securely and surprising retro-cool appearance

I love this thing; I wish I'd bought one back in 2008 when I first got my car. It fits beautifully on my 2008 MX-5 hard top. It's easy to attach and remove; I've taken it on and off several times. As long as the exterior surface of the trunk is clean, it shouldn't leave a mark. (I'd predict -- though haven't yet had this problem -- that if there were grit on the car surface, the grit might cause faint scratches to the paint underneath the rubber feet). Visually, the luggage deck looks great -- surprisingly retro and cool. I'd actually leave it on all the time, except the hard top can't come down while the it's attached, and it makes the trunk lid very heavy (it slams easily, you have to close it gently). The deck is incredibly sturdy. I picked up a large Tactical deployment bag (Mission Ready) with stiffened sides to hold a small tent and various camping supplies; since the bag was a single piece, it was easy to attach securely with bungee cords. If you'd ever had storage problems with the trunk (and who hasn't!), I'd strongly recommend you get one.

Pros
  • Electro-polished finish for everlasting shine
Cons
  • The rack may increase the overall height of the vehicle, limiting its clearance in certain areas.
