My RO/Respirator unit is installed outside the home. I didn't think a hard freeze was bad, but it was actually cold enough to destroy two cases on the device. I bought them as a replacement. I was hoping the canister would just screw onto the existing lids. During screwing in, the depth of the screw varied and it leaked horribly, so I had to deal with the problem of installing new caps. Once everything was reassembled it worked great. All old fittings are screwed directly into the new housing. Now every time the weatherman says it's going to be cold, I just go out and take out the canisters, put the old lids on and bring them inside.
