Worked great. No leaks yet

I had a standard opaque filter housing with a ribbed top. It started leaking so I put in a new o-ring. No help. I then lubricated the O-ring with silicone grease. No help. My friend said there must be some left somewhere in the housing, so I bought a new filter housing. I measured the holes on each end of the leaky housing and they are 1/2" wide so I figured I needed a 1/2" filter housing. Not right. Once everything was reassembled it worked great. All old fittings are screwed directly into the new housing…

Fluid enters the housing and immediately exits, bypassing the filter media. If you want to check if your filter housing is broken, place the cap (housing cap) on a flat table and shine a flashlight under it at your eyes and slowly rotate it. If you see more light in one section than
