If they could make it an inch longer it would be perfect. Even 1/2 inch will make it workable. When you put it on the end of the hose, it fits perfectly with friction. Then when you put the other end on the other end it will rest on the end of the first before sitting down. 1. Whoever approved this product for production screwed it up. I managed to do this by using tape to tape a tube slightly outwards (doesn't sit). As I got the hitch for a specific reason to add an extension hose for a specific repetitive job this works fine for me hence 2 stars. You can also do it by cutting off the ends of the hose fittings, but who wants that? For general use I would give zero stars. look elsewhere
