Review on πŸ”§ Enhance Engine Performance with MAHLE Original MIS16340 Engine Intake Manifold Gasket Set by Joseph Marshall

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nice kit for $$ but missing a couple of spacers to do the full job.

I recently got a knock sensor low voltage code P0332 in my 2006 Silverado which was entirely my fault due to an engine flush and water in the knock sensor well. In hindsight, I should have just bought the intake manifold gaskets, but I spent a few extra bucks on this kit instead of the Fel-Pro gaskets just in case I found out that additional gaskets were leaking. The intake manifold gaskets are plastic with rubber seals versus the metal Fel-Pro. Not sure if it's any better than the OEM, but my OE hasn't leaked in over 10 years (at least not bad enough to give any codes). and 155k. I chose this kit because I have bought many MAHLE filters for German cars and motorcycles in over 20 years. However, the packaging does not say MAHLE, but "Victor Reinz”. Reading the reviews here I thought I might need extra gaskets for the knock sensors, but you only need them if you pull the connector cover. They cost $20 (think I'll get them back)! If you're just replacing knock sensors or leaking intake manifold gaskets, that's overkill. Based on the feedback here, at first I thought I needed additional knock sensor spacers, you only need them if you pull the valley cap. You may need a throttle body gasket that is not included in this kit. Coolant hoses are at least overhung via line 5.3 with the throttle body. If you don't want to burp your cooling system, you'll need to remove the TB from the air intake. I ended up reusing the gasket and there were no leaks, but others may have different mileage.
