This product is almost inspired in size and style by the foldable military whip sold by Chameleon at a fraction of the cost. Love it and it seems to work well as a replacement for my Wolf River Coil TIA Mini Whip. This alone resonates at 17M. Using it with a coil also gives a very flat SWR curve for 20M. At 40M it starts to narrow its bandwidth, but in a manageable way. To protect it from the elements, I would suggest adding dielectric grease to ensure the connections work properly in wet weather. It comes with clear plastic grommets installed for each port, but I'm not sure if they are heat shrink tubing. Since I plan to use it for portable HF, I will not do heat shrinking. According to the previous review, there is a plastic/glue spot in the 3/8-24 thread. I believe it's to keep the antenna from turning in the wind as mine was flush and didn't interfere with mounting/dismounting.
