The aluminum had to be cleaned before painting, large scratches are visible through the black paintwork. Most of the mount isn't visible so now that it's in place the finish isn't much of an issue and the visible area looks good. The function is fine and keeps the backlight. I attached the end of the original fender with some rivets, leaving a fender to protect the tail light. That looks great.
