Review on Celestron 21048 PowerSeeker 80EQ Telescope by Byron Elliott

First telescope at a good price

First telescope for me. I live in a suburb about 20 miles north of Manhattan, lots of light pollution. I was impressed with the ease of setup. For the first time I was able to get a good view of the moon. I hope to leave this area soon and search for other objects. I bought a T-adapter and a T-ring and am hoping to get some shots with my DSLR. I also bought a new eyepiece, 9mm, to use in place of the supplied 4mm, which is probably not a good accessory for this scope. I also find the supplied 3x Barlow a bit cheap and too long. The telescopic sight wobbles a bit, as does the tripod. Slow-motion controls on the EQ bracket help reduce jitter when tracking subjects. All in all, a great entry-level scope for the money. Update: First camera shot below.
