There are many "disposable" DMMs on the market - this one isn't all that different. The price is better, the leads are worse (in my opinion). My device has a resistance of about 1 ohm. So keep that in mind when measuring something where it matters. I've tried test leads from my old semi-decent Wavetek DMM and they've proven to be much more reliable. Of course, you can easily spend 2-3x what this meter costs for a decent set of test leads. You pay your money and make your choice. If you just want to test batteries and check resistances, this little tool is great. Unfortunately it doesn't have a buzzer for continuity. It's a more expensive sibling, the DT832 has it if that's what you're looking for. Bottom line: if you're serious about electronics, buy yourself a hundred dollars or more and choose a real counter. If you just fiddle around and check bulbs, batteries and heating coils, this will work fine.
