Everything is easy for so much money. Exactly. Neat guide. Wrong design where the probes are attached unless I have a lemon. The springs inside that are part of the linkage (3 sensor options) are too tight. A spring came out of one of the 3 holes the first time the probe was removed (no way to replace it) and the other threatens to come out with every use too, but so far they remain. seems to be giving me the readings I need. If you need industrial power or are short on cash, take a step or two

Works well but watch out for amplifiers

Gauge works right out of the box. All of the various areas seem to be within their specs (or just marginally). Either way, it's good enough for 99% home use and a great deal. The test leads are very flexible which makes them easy to use, but they become a problem when using a 10 amp input. They lose about 1 volt for every 1 1/2 amps of current flowing through them. This can be a real problem if you don't have a lot of volts to start with. If you manage to apply 10 amps (with a loss of about 6…

Not bad for a cheap DMM

There are many "disposable" DMMs on the market - this one isn't all that different. The price is better, the leads are worse (in my opinion). My device has a resistance of about 1 ohm. So keep that in mind when measuring something where it matters. I've tried test leads from my old semi-decent Wavetek DMM and they've proven to be much more reliable. Of course, you can easily spend 2-3x what this meter costs for a decent set of test leads. You pay your money and make your choice. If you just…

Decent multimeter for the price

This is a cheap multimeter, don't expect much from it. Either way, it's not that difficult to use. Has no continuity, which is REALLY important for finding faults in the chain. The holes for connecting the test leads are very small, which means they can be easily disconnected from the multimeter. .- This is a manual range, meaning you must switch to the correct range to get the correct measurements. (Maybe just a preference, so if that doesn't bother you, don't take it as a negative) Pros:…

PRECISE, ROBUST, BASIC Digital meter. Ideal for occasional/hobby use

I had to carry a voltmeter and ohmmeter with the customers which were good enough to be useful and didn't make me cry when they broke or forgot /were lost. The DT830B digital multimeter meets these requirements perfectly. I don't need the meter very often, but when I need it, I really need it. The LCD is big enough for my aging eyes to read without glasses. The large dial covers all the ranges I will ever need for DC and AC. The construction feels solid and the wires are quite well made…
