I needed a new starter for my 30 year old bike, restoring my original starter would cost me almost as much as buying a brand new one. Five stars because the fit and finish are perfect, I haven't had a chance to use it because I'm still waiting for a few other parts. Now that the riding season has started, I've learned quite a bit about this starter. 1) Fixed annulus gear slippage in the case by adding a dowel pin and 2) the starter failed me with a faulty final gear. I was able to salvage a piece of my old starter but now I have reservations about relying on this starter. If it lasts me to the end of the season I'll be happy and buy a new American made starter for next season.
